Things have been really cranking lately. Much time has elapsed since my last post, in that time I got a newish motohome and new enclosed trailer, the Haulmark toyhauler is now gone. Lot's and lot's of rain have been making working and riding at the farm (Area 1-2-6) very tough. We are getting ready to roll on a new season with very different goals; fewer races, bigger races, more training and more time at home. Check out the new starting gate.

My last post was over a month ago, that's crazy. Let's take up the topic of too busy, what is too busy, and how does one find oneself in such a situation? I think that most people are TB (too busy) adding to this pehnominon are all the labor saving devices we now have computers, et al. Back in the day an accountant would have used a book and written all debits and credits now that person goes to training, waits for software updates to load, call IT to fix all maner of computer malidies all types, all so that the one thing that took hours to do could be done by the computer in minutes, but the net/net is that all that waiting coupled with all the time spent on social networking sites (FB, MS...) we should have stayed were we were, because at least we were the masters of our day not subject to the whimsical demands of the "labor saving PC."

Last night race, Birch Creek is always fun and this weekend was no exception. Practice was certainly fun on Sunday. Check out the big air over the finishline jump that gave Collin a problem on Saturday night, well no longer he hit it around 100 times Sunday and has it wired now.

Last weekend was VMP, "The State Championships" sorry to see the rain keep some people away. Collin got 4th overall in the 50's he got the holeshot in moto 2, which was nice, he was really stoked and deservedly so. The accompanying video has nothing to do with the race but here it is anyway. to Birch Creek this weekend for the last installment of the AMA night SuperCross Races, (I think).

Wow how time flies, seems like we roll in Sunday night then start getting ready for the next weekend. Colling raced twice last weekend, Saturday night at Birchcreek supercross track, he won the 50 race (nice!) and got 4th in the 65 race then on Sunday at Sugartree (what a long day) he went 4-5, the 50 ranks seem to be dwindling, I know I am ready to move on and CPP likes the bigger bike much better. Anyhow here is super short clip of the tabletop to rhythm/whoops section by the lake. I am amazed at his speed through here

I missed the past couple weeks, it's been really busy and work and home. Had a good time at Birch Creek a week ago and this pastweek was super nice weather at Southfork. Rolling Hills

Rolling Hills Cycle Park never disappoints, this weekend was no exception. The Track was in good shape and the folks are nice. It's so close to Danville all those people show up in force. The 50 and 65 fields weren't all that big but most of the riders are pretty good. Collin was riding well and got a lot of pressure from a couple riders, they were all pretty close, but the big step-down is one place those with more experience (or less fear) really get some time. Congradulations to Grant on the 1-1.

Anybody else think Sunday was hot? Good racing though, 12 kids in the 65 7-9 one of the biggest gates of the day. EXMX runs a good show 18 motos with 250 racers and done by 4:30 my estimate as Collin's last moto (#10) was done by 3. The sand is always a bit of a mess but thats okay, its a fun track.

Looking back on the weekend is painful, all trips are fun some more than others, this weekend was shaping up to be okay, until Sunday morning when the course was found to be overwatered (my opinion, but why else would you need a bulldozer to scrape off mud when it had'nt rained in days) then it did start to rain just a drizzle at first but then some anomoly blew through and ripped off the trailer awning ($$$) along with a deluge that soaked everything previously covered by the awning, Oh and Lauren and Collin got soaked too on the way back from the snackbar. So after taking stock of the situation we packed it in and headed home. We will regroup and get back out there...

Whirlwind Drive to Birch Creek, AMA district 13 race under supercross format. It is a shame that there are not more people coming to races at this venue. It is very nice and the organizers should be commended for keeping fees down and have a nice track and runing a good program. Many thanks to God for keeping everyone safe espcially Grant his crash looked bad but he escaped unharmed, and won the 50 race to boot and would have won the 65 if the spill had not happened. CPP went 6-5 on the 50's 65's respectively and is still looking for that elusive double. Have a great and safe week, and please seize the day.

Yes it has been a while, should have posted while on vacation but I did not get the chance. Why the title... I just wanted to go on record and express my disdain for the stuff, it takes up to much room. Michigan was great, we got to do all the Michigan Stuff: Sand dunes, boat, fishing, riding, eating at all the cool spots. Thanks to Uncle Steve for all the skateboard fun. Back to racing this weekend.

Nice week end at Birch Creek, surprising that the turnout wasn't better, but the 50 and 65 race had the biggest fields. Grant Nichols deserves a tip of the hat, very nice riding. And Collin you were smooth sorry to see you cleaned out in the main, but way to come back in the 65 main, it takes heart to shake it off and focus.

It amazing what a little ride can do for you. when I say little ride I mean it, I rode right around 20 minutes and felt realy good. The work on the track is paying off, but there is a serious need for water. Motocross is like farming, you need water but not to much.

Man its been a while since T-bone left, an I miss him. It is funny how you miss the little things. I put a bunch of photos of Tommy, Puma, and Flippy up on Picasa so jump over there and check out the animal album. Take good care of your pets and enjoy them everyday. What kind of animal would you be, that is if your were to be an animal. I'm choosing dog, they seem to have the most fun, horses are cool too and that would be fun because the can go so fast and are big and powerful but they can just jump in the care and go for a ride so thats why I going with dog. Cats are okay but generally too laid back for me, but if you are into hunting being a cat might be the way to go.

Not a big turn out but the racing was fun none the less. CPP went 3-3 on the 50 and 8-5 on the 65, and got a full day of practice on Saturday. Fun was had by all especially during the flashlight tag freeforall and the golfcart/pitbike extravaganza.

I missed a couple weeks, its been crazy so whats new... anyway two weeks ago we did rolling hills LLAQ and that was OK. The this past weekend ECMX Collin rode great, he went 5-5 on the 65 and 3-4 on the 50, a shame really as he got the holeshot in moto two but could not hold onto third( 1st and 2nd checked out) and got 4th by 10 ft. Heading to ACTIONTOWN USA.

I'm not going to lie to you, I love racing. I spent much of my youth and even not so youth, racing bikes (bikes of the human powered type) every weekend, and it feels great going racing with collin, I just hope I get the chance to race myself before I get to old and fat. Anyway we rolled up to Maryland for a sunday only race and had a great time. CP rode well but didn't get off the line all that well in the first moto, oh well he will put it all together sooner or later and until then no worries cause as they say the worst day racing is better than the best day ....

I have missed a few weeks, time sure flies. Any way since lake sugartree we went to actiontown and CP got second. That day started very muddy but ended pretty nice. Then we went to Rolling Hills we Collin made his debut on the 65, he did just about as well on it as the 50. We were off more or less for Easter, I worked at the farm and CP rode sat and Sunday with Jared coming out on Sunday and ending his day in the ER for a few stiches. The lesson to me was don't get lazy with your gear, wear it all and wear it everytime.

Oh yea look at that air, Collin had me camp out at this spot so he could blast this big air. Lake Sugar Tree is very nice, the weather was perfect. It was a LL qualifier so tons of kids on the gate, very cool!

This is just the line up for practice, 40 kids on the 7-8 gate it was the biggest class of the day. Collin was not here as we made plans a year ago to go to Daytona. We are going to Lake Sugar Tree to try and qualify for the regional at Budd's Creek.

Well its all done for this year, and it was nearly perfect all except for Bubba being taken out in the first turn. Don't get me wrong the race was awesome and J-law deserves credit for staying out front so long, I hope he can stay on the straight and narrow, and of course Reed was flying but I did want to see them battle it out and wanted Stewart to win. The hotel was great, the kids where stoked and the weather could not have been better.

We had a soggy time at ECMX for the final round of the Winter Series. The decision was made ot to run the 50 races, (I am still undecided about this). In any case all the points stayed the same and CP finished up 6th for the series. Here a couple photos from the awards tent/flood zone.

DC / ArenaCross

Collin and I headed up to the Baltimore ArenaCross last weekend, ArenaCross is tough mostly because of the pace and the small amount of riding time. But there is one big counterpoint to this and that is Collin really likes it. Maybe it is because the tracks are like his practice track small, tight and hard packed, with little or no ruts. He did well and almost got the holeshot in his moto, he qualified straight to the main and ended up tenth in the main. Oh and we went to the Lincoln memorial as well as the Vietnam and Koren war memorials thereby combining a little history with racing, Go Dad!

Mudfest

The year is off to a good start, the holidays are behind us and the mud was thick. We rolled into NCMP around 1pm on saturday, just as sat practice ended bummer. We all had a lot of fun hanging out with the Shockeys that night. Sunday morning around 5:30 it started raining and kept raining of and on untill we left around 2pm. Cpp loved racing in the rain, he had a good practice, and a great moto1 in which he got through turn one in 2nd place (no small chore) with a gate of 16. Too bad somebody took him out in the turn before the rhythm section. It took a while to get going and he ended up 10th, that's too bad as he was in the hunt for at least a top 5. It is early in the year so no worries.

Okay as requested a pic of my new KTM, it is sweet, here is the run down; enzo sub-tanks Ti megabomb pipe, FCR suspension and a x10 ignition. I like to way it rides I feel good not as flickable as the YZ but very forgiving on the power side, you can ride right up to a jump, and just seatbounce and juice the throttle and pop some little airs. More later...

Wow quite a turnout for the forth race of the Mid-Atlantic winter series. It was indeed winter down at ECMX, practice was cold and heated grips would have been nice! I think there were about 20 guys in the 7-8 and another 10 in the 4-6 so in the first moto with one gate drop it was quite a site with 30 kids hauling into the first turn. Collin had some issues in moto one with the sand but found some guys to battle with so that was good, he ended up 11ht. In moto two his goal was to get a top ten spot which was looking good as he was running between 5th and 7th but then he mistook the double for the table-tap and skyed the jump but landed way front heavy and then swapped highside on the second jump face. The bars where buried and it took at least 2 minutes to get things sorted and started so there went all his hard work. I was really happy with the changes he made in the second moto he really listed and put his head down. We head back here in January and will be ready to ride.

Check out the "exhaustion pipe" (collins name for it) no dents right? well that was before the last couple motos it has no less than 3big ol' dents now.
This picture is actually from two week ago, we had a good time and collin really smoothed out in the last moto his only complaint was not enough track time. Yesterday was cold in the morning but no wind all day so it was nice. Collin a.k.a. "lord of the table top" got of the gate really well but he is still weary of the first turn trafic and let up early, there were 21 and 22 guys on the gate so that was quite a spectacle. He finished up basically where he went throught the first turn and unfortunatly did have any one really close to his speed to battle with, hopefully he can get up in the front group and mix it up.

And the verdict is the king Rips, much better fit for Collin. The bike is longer and allows for better weight distribution and more room to move around. CPP took to it in minutes and was lapping as low as 58 seconds on the short track, and clearing the table top like it was his job.

Big weekend, Collin and I went up to Woodbridge yesterday. I was a big day of first; first day racing the PK Ripper, first day racing as 8 year old, and first regional. Collin did well and learned how to handle traffic something he has never had to contend with before. Today was HST much more laid back, I raced if yo could call it that, i felt okay by the third moto but still much work to do.

So Sunday there was no BMX race at Hampton so we decided to head over and just do some practice. Collin of course rides the whole course over and over while I try to concentrate on certain sections. I was braced from my recent MX riding advances so I was trying to clear the first tabletop. As is usually the way it happens I was pretty much done for the day and was just making one last run and BLAM! I completely smashed myself. My right forearm, right shoulder, right hip and left wrist came out the losers, along with my carbon fork. What is unknown is whether the fork broke before or after the crash. Anyway Collin rode for two more hours and I just hung out and kept ice on my wrist.

Best Son Ever

Last night I saw my son really step up. I had given both of my kids 1 and 1/2 girl scout cookies, (somoas), any way the dog ate my daughters cookie, she immediatly started to cry and my son without hesitation gave her his cookie. I was happy to see him do something so nice without any urging. On an unrelated note big fun was had by all at the farm last saturday, the mx track is still in it's infancy but we raced nonetheless.

Collin did his first motocross race on sunday and I have to say he truly has nerves of steel. He never wavered from his desire to race. There we 500 people there with trailers and RV's the whole thing was very cool. He did great, and got 13th in the main.

Recent finding in 2005 Looks like MSDTS is not configured properly as a cluster resource, working to resolve this issue.

Okay see KB817064 on enableing network DTC access, then KB301600 on configuring MSDTS on 2003 server. This requires a server restart so I will have to wait. the plan now is to get sp2 on both nodes then the 6 hotfixes and hope that this fixes the problems with schedualed jobs and Integration Services.

Setting MSDTC VIP to 192.168.0.220 using K disk as physical disk resource.
